Meet our Clergy
Priest: The Rev ClayOla Gitane
Mtr. ClayOla Gitane, received her M.Div. (Anglican Certificate) at Southern Methodist University’s Perkins School of Theology, and then did extra studies at Church Divinity School of the Pacific before being ordained in 2009 by the Diocese of Olympia. She served in Fort Worth, Texas from 2009-2013, then at Grace Episcopal Church, San Marcos in the Diocese of San Diego, CA from 2013-2016. She then returned to Fort Worth and served small parishes in various capacities until accepting the call to St. Luke’s in 2018. She arrived in Sequim on July 2018, and started as Rector at St. Luke’s on August 1, 2018. She has 3 daughters, two sons-in-law and a daughter-in-law, and 5 grandsons.
Deacon: The Rev Diane Moore
Diane was assigned by the Diocese of Olympia as deacon* at St. Luke’s in 2011 after moving here from Colorado. Ordained in 1992, she is a native of St. Joseph, Missouri and long time resident of Colorado. Diane has brought experience as a teacher, church secretary, parish and regional deacon, diocesan administrator, diaconal educator, spiritual director, missionary in Mexico and Haiti, and coordinator of volunteers for Episcopal General Convention 2000. She was co-founder of the non-profit – Mary’s Hope Workshops, presenting workshops and continuing education programs nationally on healing the spiritual wounds left in the wake of profound childhood abuse to of professionals, clergy and survivors. She is a published poet, a fledgling photographer, and since age 4, an avid reader. Diane and her husband Art have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
*Note: The position of Deacon in the Episcopal Church exercises “a special ministry of servanthood” directly under the Bishop, serving all people and especially those in need outside the church.
